Around the Block: Warren, Clair & Bruno

Having initially moved to the Warehouse District for work 15 years ago, Warren was excited to live downtown and embrace an urban lifestyle. After continually running into Claire at Barley House, sparks flew and now here they are enjoying all that city living has to offer.

Whether it’s Claire’s 2-minute walk to work or Warren’s involvement in the Western Reserve Rowing Association early on, they both feel like there is always something to do where they live and it’s all just a stone’s throw away. One of the duo’s favorite activities is being outdoors and riding their bikes around; on a nice day, they’ll bike to Little Italy and grab a bite to eat before heading to Edgewater to catch the sunset.

Plus, their dog, Bruno, loves the neighborhood just as much as they do! On their daily walk, Bruno leads with real intent and has a fulfilling neighborhood life to attend to with people and dogs to see. For instance, the valets at Blue Point Grille know him and always have treats on hand! Bruno’s favorite spot in the city? Mall C, where a lot of “regulars” meet up to play while the owners chat away.

In this kind of environment, Warren and Claire can attest to the fact that where they live is so much more than just a neighborhood; it’s a real family.

Check out our interview with residents Warren and Claire below to discover why they love the live-work-play environment of downtown and the family atmosphere of the district.

Q: How long have you lived in the Warehouse District?

A:   Warren – 15 years and Claire 6 years

Q: What are some of your favorite things to do?

A: Attend shows at Playhouse Square, Cleveland sporting events and anything outdoors: boating, SUP, biking, hiking and camping are frequent activities of ours.

Q: Favorite place to eat?

A: It’s almost impossible to choose, so many great options. But if we had to choose one, Mallorca.  Also happens to be our dog Bruno’s favorite patio.  We can’t walk past without him trying to gain entrance into their red front door.

Q: Share something you found that’s really unique to Cleveland?

A: The Union Club – a recent find for us that has some of the best elevated food, service and history we’ve experienced.

Q: What’s the best kept secret spot in downtown?

A: Yeah right, like we’d give such a secret away :)
