What these Warehouse District Businesses Used to Look Like

We’ve all heard how historic most of the spaces in the Warehouse District are, but have you ever seen for yourself what they looked like? Below are 4 photos of businesses you might frequent today and what they looked like in the past.

1. The Perry-Payne building was an office building for iron and shipping companies when this picture was taken in the late 19th century. Today, businesses such as the Shaheen Gallery occupy the bottom floor of this building.

2. Today the Bingham Building is home to hundreds of Warehouse District residents and the beloved Constantino’s Market, however when this photo was taken in 1973 when it was still a functioning hardware distribution warehouse.

3. This photo of the Bradley Building when it was the tallest building on the block was taken in the late 19th century. Today businesses like The Ivy, Dive Bar, Insomnia Cookies, and Mills James.

4. Today these storefronts are home to businesses like Surroundings Home Décor, Jimmy John’s, and Phoenix Coffee. When this photo was taken at the turn of the 20th century, they were home to the Geo. Worthington company, a hardware giant that once occupied many of the buildings in the Warehouse District.
