In 1796, Moses Cleaveland arrived on the banks of the Cuyahoga River, and chose this location to build a new city. As a result, the City of Cleveland was created, and the Warehouse District became its first neighborhood. Today, Settlers Landing continues to serve as an important community asset with expansive riverfront green space, pedestrian promenades, and a fountain.

Connecting the Warehouse District with the Flats, Canal Basin Park, and the Towpath Trail, Settlers Landing is a scenic place to relax or enjoy recreation. Whether having a picnic, walking the dog, riding a bike, taking a stroll, or watching the sunset, this is Downtown Cleveland’s “backyard” for all to enjoy.
